"Dream Thieves" is about my teenage suicide attempt and how I was saved by a voice that spoke of my dreams. My dreams were subsequently stripped away by the "dream thieves" or those who discourage anyone from doing what they truly want to do. From parents to teachers and peers, most people crush our dreams and then we learn "how to take the others." We fall in line with everyone else and forget what our soul needs, what drives us, what makes us feel alive. The dream thieves instill deep fear within us. so much so that we excel at repressing our dreams while quietly propagating resentment and bitterness. But... "They didn't take it all. There's a little hope left over."
